Engagement Photo Season is Upon Us!

How to prepare for your Engagement Shoot. What to wear? Where to where it? What to do while you are wearing it? These are the questions you have to ask yourselves and your photographers. Kristie and I are always happy to advise on clothing (try not to match each other too much… twinsies!) and we’ve got our favorite permit free locations around the city. Those are the easy questions, but what is one supposed to do when being photographed? The most important thing to remember before you think about anything too hard is… have fun. Your engagement shoot is really all about getting to know your photographers and getting comfortable in front of the camera. We love doing engagement shoots and so will you. We promise!

Here are a few tips to help you all get started.

Get creative with the where. Do you have access to a unique location? Barns, fields, favorite coffee shop or restaurant, barber shops, antique store, record shops, favorite neighbourhood… the possibilities are endless. Go nuts.

Props are always good. Pick things that reflect your personality and interests. Bikes, umbrellas, dogs, kids, picnic baskets, water balloon fights, cupcakes, regular cakes, coffee, hot chocolate, beer, wine, banana splits, piece of pie from Wanda’s in the market… I just made myself really hungry.

Last tip… have fun and laugh a lot.
